10 Rules for Every Bride
The Knot posted this article on rules every bride should drill into their head.
- I can live without Lady Slipper Orchids.
- I won’t make my bridesmaids look like clones.
- I won’t invite my second cousin’s fling.
- I won’t obsess over my registry.
- I’ll loosen up over rehearsal dinner.
- I’ll write thank you notes as the gifts come in.
- I won’t stress out about his bachelor party.
- I won’t have unrealistic wedding expectations.
- I won’t let downers dampen my enthusiasm.
- I’ll make my album within one year of the wedding.
In the spirit of honesty, I broke 4 rules. I won’t tell you which ones. There should be an eleventh rule: I will hire a day of coordinator. ![]()

Yes! Please add #11 to the list. I work so many weddings where there is no one making sure everything is running smoothly so it ends up being the bride who worries. Then I feel bad so I start to worry and try to help organize things… EVRYONE should hire or assign a day of coordinator!
Ooh, I second Heather’s post!
i already know that i will be breaking 4 of the rules…yikes.
Yay Heather! And, yay to you for being so smart as to add taht #11 to the list! Wish The Knot had thought of it first!
Add number 11! It is priceless to be worry free on the day of! Not only does it make the day of better but it also clears your mind in those weeks before, knowing that someone will take care of everything. This is a shamless plug since I am an event designer, but shows the value I feel my line of work provides the beautiful brides of the world!
