Black & White Art Deco
Anne and I promised a board and some ideas for each of our commenters on the EAD services post. We’re going to go in order of wedding date, and our first one is Julie, who commented:
Oooh! Free inspiration consultation! Exactly what I need as everything is coming together in the months before the wedding.

Little Miss Planner
I recently came across a fun blog, Little Miss Planner, created by a recent bride who had some wonderful DIY projects that she’s letting us share with all of you today. The best thing about these? They are all elegant and simple, yet cost very little to make and are not difficult to undertake. If this sounds like your kind of DIY, read on!
Loving the DIY newsletter for the out of town bags (made using only MS Word)!

Gocco Coasters
Have you seen Miss Penguin’s favors on Wedding Bee? Wow! Love them.

Eclectic Images Profile
We had such a positive reaction to Heather’s work. To be honest, I’m not surprised because many of you have used her images from The Knot without realizing who she is! The tie and flower in the Orange and Gray reader board? That was Heather, and the wedding was featured in The Knot. If you’re looking for a magazine worthy photographer, she’s your girl.
First up, her black and whites. I love the photo of the bride putting on her earrings.

Gray: Reader Board #10
Darci (author of the amazing With This Ring blog) was *so* sweet yesterday. She sent us an email letting us know that she gave us a shoutout on her blog AND sent this gorgeous orange and gray board that is just so elegant and chic.

She says she’s not an inspiration board expert (yeah, right) but I think she did a fabulous job bringing together one of my favorite color schemes. It’s perfect for her reader Steffanie’s modern sunset wedding in Seattle.
Thanks so much Darci and great job!!!

Red + White
For no another reason than I really love these colors, here you go. Inspired by Kathryn at Snippet & Ink.

Daffodil & Pewter
Anne and I recently received this email from a reader:
Hello, my name is Anna. I just stumbled onto your blog, and I absolutely love it! I am an artist (painter) so I’m obsessed with color and combinations thereof. I also just got engaged, and we have only settled on one thing- the colors :) I have been searching desperately for some inspiration with this combo: daffodil and pewter. I obviously love your current ‘color’ week being combinations of colors with gray, and was hoping you could feature my idea? Martha Stewart recently featured a marigold/pewter combo, but I need more! Please help!
I adore shades of yellow and gray together but there are several ways to go with this palette. After finding some pictures in our archive, I decided to build two boards for Anna, so that she could choose which she prefers based on her personal style. First up, a very vintage chic board that blends the pewter and daffodil with shades of cream and brown.

So now that you’ve picked the design and digitized it, what can you do with it? Pretty much anything! I used InDesign to create these, but it can be done in Word once you have the digital image and colors chosen. The flower translates well, from the invites to the menus. My favorite? The invite, so simple and sweet it would look great printed on heavy white paper and layered with a stronger pink backing.

Real Weddings: John + Cassie 1.12.08
Laura from the absolutely FABULOUS Laura Kay Photography sent us this amazing wedding and I’ve been so excited to post it for all of you to see (I adore the little blog universe we all live in, check out the story of how Laura and I found each other {here}) . John and Cassie were married on January 12th ‘08 in Houston, TX - and they were lucky to have picture-perfect weather.
Their morning wedding and brunch reception at the Junior League of Houston was highlighted by satisfying and colorful mimosas. And the group portrait taken in front of the 2nd Baptist Chapel (a beautiful venue) is probably my favorite wedding party picture ever. Seriously. The black and white color scheme, combined with beautiful pink flowers and the bright sunlight, make for a stunning photo.
