Real Weddings: Lana + Ray 11.3.07
Kara and Jeremy from the fantastically talented Kara Pennington Photography were kind enough to send us over these gorgeous images from the wedding of Lana and Ray in Tampa, FL last November.
I’m going to start with my faves - the bridal portraits! Stunning. The black and white is one of my favorite bridal portraits ever - doesn’t Lana just look so sophisticated and timeless in that lighting?
Love this next series of “posed” bridal party photos - the brick wall makes for such a great background - don’t the boys look adorable in their shot?
Fun fact about Lana and Ray - they are both skilled salsa dancers, so they hired instructors to come in for the reception - I think this is a fantastic idea, as it makes the guests a part of something that they love to do and also gives them mad skills for the dance floor! I’m sure this really made the reception fun.
The obligatory ring shot (we don’t talk very much about the ring shot here on EAD but it’s a necessity and I love Kara’s use of the bouquet here).
The reception was held at a gorgeous Tampa venue, the Don Vincente Inn. If you’re a Tampa bride, have a look at their website because this venue looks perfect! I love the chandeliers in the ballroom.
One final picture that really captures the moment!
Kara and Jeremy, thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous real wedding with us! Everyone please give them some blog love (and all you brides to be in the Florida area, you must meet with them - they are so talented and do such a fantastic job portraying events)!

What a beautiful event! I lived in the Tampa Bay area for many years, and this definitely makes me miss my home away from home.
I can’t pick a favorite image! but I will be using that ring shot in one of my upcoming ring posts! =)
I knew that looked familiar. I took a class in Ybor last year and walked past that hotel every day. It’s a beautiful area with a very rich culture.
Hi Elizabeth! You are so sweet! The sweetest! I saw your comment on Brooklyn Bride blog and your comment on my blog a few days ago.
If you are ever in Oregon, you must visit and say hi so I can bake you some cookies! By the way… you are right! This bride’s portrait is stunning! All best! Myra (keep up the awesome blog posts!)
Thanks for the love!!!
