Slightly Offbeat
From reading this blog, most of our readers would assume that we’re very conservative and traditional when it comes to weddings. Truth is? E isn’t as traditional as she lets on. This is the girl who went through a phase as a teen where she only wore black (she even wanted a black wedding gown)!
In fact, from the surface, the hubby and I both look very traditional (no dreds here!). But we have and seek a relatively non-traditional lifestyle. We don’t have a TV. We share a car. We try to live quietly and simply. Our wedding was very traditional mostly because of our families. F wanted to elope. I couldn’t bear to do it, and I’m glad we chose not to. We did hire the Bluegrass band we wanted, and ordered them not to play Sweet Home Alabama. Small steps people…
The point to all of this? Join us this week as we explore a little more offbeat side (in addition to our regular posts) of weddings. We hope you enjoy!

Looking forward to getting to know the REAL gals behind this fabulous blog
You know, my grandmother always told me to never be afraid of being different! It’s what sets you apart. So being offbeat is pretty cool in my opinion - why would you want to be just like everybody else?
I wish my fiancee and I could share a car. But I have to admit, don’t know that I have ever wanted a black wedding dress. To each his own.
No Sweet Home Alabama?? Blasphemous.
Don’t tell me you skipped out on Free Bird…
ha, all jokes aside, I love that you had a bluegrass band! So fun.
