Olive Green and Black Fall Wedding

Reader Maureen writes in to ask:

I am getting married November 1st and would like to incorporate black, olive green, and ivory into my wedding but am nervous that the colors aren’t appropriate for November. Any inspiration you can provide for a fall green wedding is much appreciated.

I love this color combination for fall – it’s so unexpected!  I tried to go with a non-rustic feel to this board because I feel like when we see green we automatically think outdoorsy (and OK yes, we have two outdoor images, but give me a little bit of a break, it’s *still* fall!).

Maureen, I think the key to your palette is warming it up for fall by using gold tones as accents.  I hope this board is inspiring and I can’t wait to see what you put together!

we heart your comments!

Great board, I completely agree with adding GOLD to warm it up for fall. It will be lovely!

What beautiful colors for fall!! I think by using olive green, instead of a brighter leaf or lime green, it’s totally fall-like! It’s more subdued. And the gold accents are so rich with it!

Pretty, pretty. I am having a fall wedding as well and am loving the blues, greens all toned down a bit to be more appropirate for fall. Olive green and navy, for example make the perfect fall palette especially when paired with gold.

I’m having a wedding on November 6th of this year and am using the colors Olive Green and Black…what do you think about those colors? Could you maybe make me a inspiration board because I’m so lost towards decorations-lol. Thanks!!
