Real Weddings: Jeff + Judy 9.2.06, Part I
One of the first photography blogs that A. and I started reading was Heather Gilson’s One Love Photo blog. So when Heather sent us over some of her favorite real weddings to feature, I was incredibly excited to see my favorite one from her blog, the Idaho river wedding of Jeff and Judy!
Isn’t their “flower girl” adorable?
The wedding site was Salmon River in Riggins, Idaho. Jeff and Judy began their romance here, working as river rafting guides, so it was very fitting that they were able to return to the place where it all began for their wedding!
There is a tradition for these Salmon River weddings – tossing daisies into the river! The couple took this to heart and incorporated daisies into their floral arrangements, their “flower girl” collar, and each guest was also given a daisy to toss!
I’ll be back later today with more images from this scenic event!

Did they sail away into the sunset on a boat? Being in a boat on my wedding day is a goal of mine, I haven’t figured out how to make it happen yet.
Yes they did float away in a classic antique river boat after the ceremony. She arrived in the same boat coming from upstream with her dad (instead of walking down the aisle). As Jeff and Judy floated away the flowers that people tossed landed in the same current as their boat and floated with them all the way down. Judy just wished she had a camera on the boat to get photos of the daisies. I should have given her one of mine! (since I had four around my neck.)
I can almost hear the guitar set agaist the lapping river sound. Beautiful.
