I think some of the best memories that come from a wedding are the preparations; and the they are the best chance to get together with friends and family and celebrate early! When I got married I faced this same (overwhelming) problem, but I had my heart set on doing so many things myself. I finally took a Friday off work to ORGANIZE everything--buy all the supplies for 10 or 15 projects, type up very thorough directions (some on a full page, some to cut up and put by each stack of supplies I made), bought great snacks (fruit, chocolate, and champagne!), and then friends and family over for a busy project weekend. We had so much FUN, and got TONS of stuff done! I think the great thing about weddings that we sometimes forget is that people really do love to help. And, its a great excuse for a party!
