If you are wanting to include all the little ones in the wedding, I say go for it. We had 9 kids total in our wedding. 4 boys, 5 girls: B-10, B-8, B-4, B-3 & G-13, G-9, G-5, G-3, G-2 mo. All the boys carried lanterns down the aisle (called ‘light bearers’) and the oldest boy pulled the 2 mo. old (our niece) in a sleigh. The rest of the girls followed the boys while throwing snow down the aisle. All of the kids in the wedding were close to us and that’s why we asked them to be a part. But, we were concerned about them standing through the entire ceremony. We decided to only have our nephew (4) and the two older girls (9 & 13) stand up with us the entire time. My nephews dad was a groomsmen, so he stood with him and the two girls were sort-of like jr. bridesmaids. All the other kids went and sat with their parents once they made it down the aisle. The kids were amazing…and everyone loved them! It worked out perfect because all the parents were happy to have their kids included but we didn’t have to worry about 9 kids standing up their getting fussy and making a scene! If you WANT to include all the kids, it would be beautiful and I am sure would touch your fiances family’s hearts. There are lots of little ways to include them. The older kids can walk down the aisle carrying candles inside a covered lantern or vase while holding hands with a smaller child. If you are not wanting tons of kids in your wedding though, I would not do it as 6 kids is a lot. Good luck to you!! :)

Look to Eizabeth Hurley’s wedding for inspiration on how to incorporate lots of little ones in the wedding. I feel like someone else used lots of little girls in her wedding too…hmmm…was it Marcia Cross? I think J could definitely use all three little girls – the older ones could help the younger get down the aisle.

I agree, I love weddings that have an entourage of young attendants! I was at a wedding once where one of the oldest kids held a sign on a stick that read, “Here Comes the Bride.” He lead the rest of the kids down the aisle. It was adorable.

I have done weddings where there were lots of little ones in it. It is adorable!! Let them all get dressed up and walk together down the aisle- no one has a title. It is so cute and kids steal the show! Put the littlest ones in a decorated wagon and let the older boys pull it. SOOOO CUTE!!!
