John Smoltz accomplished a feat at 7:42 ET tonight that only 15 men before him have done – he struck out his 3,000th batter. All of the strikeouts came while in an Atlanta Braves uniform. That’s special, people.
He’s my hero. :)

I respect him so much for sticking with the team even when they demoted him to the bullpen. And now he’s back as a starter and giving the Mets a hard time. ;)
