Hello readers!
It’s Friday and a beautiful sunny spring day (i.e. it’s already over 70 degrees) here in Birmingham. I wanted to take an informal poll. You can comment below, or email E and I at elizabethannedesigns at gmail dot com.
Over the past year or so, E and I have collected all the wedding resources we see mentioned, find online or see locally. These range from bakers to bridal salons. Currently, we have over 600 vendors, photographers, stores, planners, designers, etc. This number grows each day. Our goal has always been to build a sense of community throughout this industry. We love our online brides, co-bloggers and friends. We firmly believe that no blogger is an island to themselves!
This would not be a city guide or “Little Black Book” like Abby’s at Style Me Pretty. Just a simple list of links with an occasional vendor profile or review. If we have personally used the vendor, or know of someone who has, we will note that.
Our questions are these: Would you be interested in these resources? Would they be useful? If so, what would be your primary reason for using them? In your comment or email, please tell us if you are a bride (or hope to be a bride) or industry person (planner, etc.).
Love, A!

I would love access to the resources!! I could use them for planning. I think they could really be useful for brides trying to find vendors. You may have pictures/examples of their work that we could look over, which would be great!
I think it could also be great for people who are trying to plan weddings from out of town.
As a hopeful bride-to-be, I think this would be tremendously helpful.
I would definitely use it as a resource for my destination weddings!
I would love that! My wedding is coming up at the end of May, but if I had something like that during the planning I would have referred to it often.
I love to network through vendors I like / trust to find other quality vendors. For example, I looked at Jenny Yoo’s recommendations for invitations because I could have ordered those from anywhere. Also, I looked at her recommendations for florists for ideas I could pass onto my florist.
I also love to recognize the great vendors that I have had a chance to work with. If there was some way to suggest great resources that would be great too, and another way for us all to feel involved / connected.
I feel like I am much better at the wedding planning thing being over a year into it. But when I started it was sooo overwhelming. I would have loved any advice / direction I could have gotten.

As a small business owner in this industry, opportunities for print advertising are not always in the budget so word of mouth is relied on heavily. Having a list of sites and such would be great for your bride readers as well as your vendor readers!
I think this would be a huge, huge resource to folks who are planning weddings. Very good idea!
I think this would be a great help … even if the vendors themselves aren’t useful, it would still be good for inspiration and to get an idea of average prices, quality etc.
As a planner, I think it’d be great to get inspiration from others’ blogs + websites. Price checking in other areas, meeting new people over the internet to blog stalk, etc. would be great! You two do amazing work :)
Yes, as a bride to be, I would find this very, very helpful. Especially if it were sorted or organized by region! Finding local inspriation is easy; finding local vendors is trickier.
I’m a bride to be and think this would be unbelievably amazing. Relying on my memory to remember all the cool stuff I’ve seen on blogs is a little faulty. Especially if it’s organzied by region/city and cross organized by service. So much work for you guys though!
As a bride to be I always am looking at different vendors but often forget where I placed such and such bookmark. Also having the resource would give girls more ideas and cement people coming back to your site.
This is a great idea!! For brides and industry people. We all get asked for help and having relieable people like you to ounce ideas off of and go to for inspiration is a wonderful thing! I often see things in your blog- and others, that I bookmark or in some way note for future reference! Way to go, girls! YOu are always so on top of things!
I think this is a monumentous task to take over, but I think that EAD can do it. As I consider each wedding vendor, it is scary to think that I don’t really have any “word of mouth” referrals for some of them.
I think it is a great idea, and if it is not a paid listing, as most others are, will probably make it one of the more authentic resources for brides on the Internet.
[...] are incredibly excited to announce our new project, The EAD Library. After months of development and research, we are launching a new resource for brides. The Library is filled with [...]
