Southern Cuisine

Southern food is the best.  I know I’m biased but eating is such a big part of the Southern culture that we couldn’t help but include it in our Southern week.  So each day, as we post a Southern inspiration board or Southern wedding, we’ll also post an accompanying menu for that event.  So here’s my choice of menu for a sweet tea and lemonade wedding!

Since this is likely to be an afternoon affair, a full-blown meal isn’t necessary.  But you do need the staple of Southern finger foods - pimento cheese.  You either love it or you hate it but chances are, if you’re a Southern guy or gal, you love it.  Serve as sandwiches (with the crust cut off and cut into triangles, of course) or as yummy portions with crackers as seen on My Recipes.

Of course to go with the pimento cheese, there must be chicken salad, egg salad, or ham salad on croissants.

Along with the crudites and the cheese ball, which you will naturally have, the pièce de résistance for a Southern afternoon wedding is the ice cream bar!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the ice cream bar.  So unique and a real treat for your guests.

Hope this made you hungry!  Tune in tomorrow for more Southern fare.
