Southern Menu #4

As our Southern week concludes, we’re focusing on our favorite Southern desserts.  Served instead of traditional wedding cake, these can add a Southern flavor to any event!

You can’t really get more Southern than banana pudding (reader Jessica agrees)!  Never the meringue-topped and always with Nilla Wafers..

Cobbler is a great Southern dessert, especially peach.

If you want meringue, how about a traditional lemon meringue pie?

Good Southern dessert menus always include pecan pie.

{Stubbs BBQ}

And last but not least, suitable for favors, snacks in the OOT bags or just plain Southern additions to your meal, pralines.

Banana pudding’s one of my favorites! And you’re right - ALWAYS with vanilla wafers.

What other way is there to have banana pudding than with Nilla waffers? Yum!

Oh. My.Goodness. That is said with my thick southern accent. I love all of those featured desserts. But, I think I want my cobbler to be blackberry. YUMMY!

Hi, I’m Laura an Intern for Southern Wedding Style Magazine, and I just had to comment of your amazing desserts for Southern Week, which we here at SWS Mag absolutley LOVE!
The dessert table is always one of my personal favorites of a wedding and it’s occasionally overlooked that you can pair side treats with the big centerpiece cake.
And a meringue pie is such an elegant touch and can be manipulated to display your colors!
You are doing a great job here at Elizabeth Ann Designs!
Thanks for a great week of Southern Blogs!!!

Be Reading Ya’ll!

Hi Miss Elizabeth and Miss Anne. (That’s in honor of Southern week). Anyway, what about Puppy Chow? Whenever I’m visiting my southern family at Christmas, they and all their friends are wildly making batches of the stuff. Being from Seattle, I totally don’t get it, but they think life without Puppy Chow would be unbearable. Or is this just a Christmas dessert? Like I said…I don’t get it!
