Tablescape???
I, like a majority of brides, had round tables at our reception. I, unlike a majority of our brides who read this blog, was not terribly obsessed with the table decor (yes, I know this is strange. My obsession with details started after the wedding planning).
Well, for those of you who are looking for something more visually stimulating and light on the floral. Let me suggest the following:
- Vary the heights of each object on the table.
- Vary the textures of each object on the table.
- Vary the colors (everything doesn’t have to be the two colors you’ve picked). Exception: a monochromatic theme.
- Apply this to food displays, gift tables, etc. Anything you will have on display.

Don’t be afraid to use fabric with floral, glass with ceramic and wood with terracotta. As always, if you need more specific ideas, don’t be afraid to email your favorite bloggers for advice!

I’ve just started coming up with tablescape ideas. I am conflicted on color though. My colors are kelly green and black, and we’ll be having mexican paper flowers as the centerpieces. I love the colors from the top left picture, but am worried about being too techna-color. On the other hand, it is a celebration and I don’t want to be too dull. Decisions! Those photos are great inspiration though! Thanks!
Brilliant advice - thank you! And I love the photos you included.
I’m trying to figure out the best way to tie in chocolate and pool blue with flowers. I was thinking about cream/white flowers would work the best, but I do love me some color! I love the blue/orange contrast in the top right pic.
I love the thought of varying the heights of the centerpieces. This would give the a fresh look to an ordinary reception. Love the photos!
Ladies, thank you so much for the wonderful advice and ideas! Seriously, it never hurts to ask the inspirational bloggers you read!
haha I am the exact same way! I’m just aiming for colored linens and candles. Simple, elegant, and one less thing to stress over!
