Purple: The Details

When planning a wedding, it’s important to remember that your color palette doesn’t have to be restricted to your flowers and bridesmaid’s dresses. While I’m not recommending a purple overload, feel free to use purple in some unexpected places.

One great example is the ink on your stationery:

Another place to bring in a punch of color is with a signature drink - the grape martini, of course!

Since colored shoes are en vogue, how about some purple Manolos?

Purple linens can be lovely and tasteful, as photographed by Marie Labbancz:

You could top things off with a fantastic purple cake:

Are there purple details that you love? Where else might you incorporate your signature color into your event?

Let’s see. Our wedding will have: purple bouquet, purple ties for the groom and groomsmen, purple shoes for me, purple bridesmaid dresses, a white and purple cake, purple invitations, purple table linens, purple menu and seating cards, pale purple guest book (only the cover, not the pages), and purple favors. It sounds like purple overload but I really don’t think it will be! I just can’t get enough of purple and don’t like anything as much when it’s in another color, except my dress and his tuxedo.

So, thanks so much for this purple week! It’s been totally inspiring.

Oh! And a basket of purple flip-flops and slippers at the reception for guests whose shoes are hurting them.

Sorry for the double comment!
