Ah, the vintage bride. As a bride who wore her mother’s dress, I love seeing other brides do the same.

If you don’t have a family member’s dress, vintage dresses (from well known designers to JCPenney catalog) can be found on Ebay or through a Google search.
If you want the vintage feeling without the vintage dress, you can easily find a modern design that fits this image.

I know this sounds kind of random – but will you do a post on vintage cakes? I am having a cake dilemma :-(

My Mom’s drses was hideous. She won’t mind me saying it, she knows it was. She got married in the 80′s and that would be recyclable. I think I will do the old cut a piece off and wrap it around my bouquet stem. Should I keep my own dress and take the chance that I might have a daughter who wants to wear it? I never know!

This article just sparked a memory of one of my first bridezilla’s and the epic fight with her mother that ensued after the bride cut up her mother’s gown. I believe I will blog on that today. Thanks for the inspiration!
My Mom eloped in a dirty sweater… but I wish she had a dress! The vintage gowns are so beautiful!
My mom had a dress but it’s not the traditional white dress (but a beautiful ethnic one) so I guess I will have to be the one to start that tradition. =)
Oh, yes. This series will be awesome.
I’ve been having a dress dilemma, and I swear, it didn’t even occur to me to ask my mum about her dress.
Ironically, I have already tried on MS’s Eleganza (commented on above) and have added Rosa to my list…. Thanks!
I am definitely wearing a vintage dress, but it happens to be my sister’s and only 4 years old! So, strapless A-line; it doesn’t look so vintage, even though it’s an heirloom :)
Such lovely vintage photos!
I love these pictures — I love Audrey and Jackie. One of my best friends is getting married in December and she is wearing her mom’s wedding dress. It’s from the 60′s and from Spain (as is her mother!) and covered in Spanish lace. She has the matching shoes, too. I think vintage is glamorous and always in style.

thank you for the inspiration, I am adding some vintage touches to my gown, because surprisingly, when I got the package, opened it, saw my dress for the first time, and tried it on, it’s demanding a vintage/elegant feel to it:
