Every once in a while, we all have those days where inspiration is just hard to come by, especially when you’re planning an event.  So I thought it would be fun today to share a few of the places I run to when I’m in need of a little shot in the arm of creativity.

Design & Style blogs

I absolutely love home scouring decor and interior design blogs.  They are a fantastic place to find color palettes, home decor ideas that you can incorporate into your event, or beautiful scenes for your inspiration boards.  The emerald and mango board from a few months back?  Inspired by this gorgeous photo from Domino magazine via This is Glamorous.

Our next library sponsor is Aletha from Pearls Events.  She is a Beetle driving, dog loving, newlywed who just happens to be a fabulous event planner in Grand Rapids, Michigan. To say she’s been a big support of EAD is an understatement.  She gives faithful encouragement to both E and I!  Aletha also puts out solid and useful content on her wedding blog.

We asked Aletha why she loves what she does:

Elizabeth Messina via Lyndsey Hamilton Events

The fabulous Lyndsey of Lyndsey Hamilton Events has just started a new blog.  We’ve already added to our feed reader and Blog Love page because we know it’s going to be fabulous.  Noah and Dan will be editing.  Be sure to check them out!

Our new blog of the week is Set Design Thinking, and oh the beautiful pictures you’ll see! SDT is written by Bella, an Art Director in Germany, with fabulous style and taste. You’ll definitely want to add this to your list of Design blogs.

I left all of you hanging on the “more to come” from yesterday’s post.  We had a freak storm hit Birmingham late last evening and were without power until this morning.

Molly had the most fabulous stationery created by Heather Toupin (aka heatherjeany).

Heather is a gocco’ing fiend.  When combined with Molly’s sense of style, the result is oh so cute!  Molly chose the lattice with vintage profiles (love how realistic they are!) for a modern vintage feel.  It fits perfectly with the venue.  You can seem more of these invites on Once Wed and Heather’s flickr photoset.

In Part 1, I mentioned the aqua and poppy color scheme… but what I didn’t mention was the a-mazing way it was carried out. Semiahmoo’s tent was transformed by Steven Moore Designs into a veritable whimsical paradise. Check out the FISH in their centerpieces, the gorgeous tent, and the blue lanterns!

I hope you are ready for the gorgeousness that is this wedding. Molly married Bill on May 24th, 2008 at the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia. Tim Willoughby shot the wedding and you know it’s some good eye candy if Tim was there!
