Funnily enough, from a old school etiquette perspective, you are always supposed to ship gifts, and never supposed to bring them to the wedding, so as to not burden the poor couple with gifts they have to transport at the end of the night. It's funny how (for all the knocks it takes these days) etiquette actually has it all figured out.

That said, my two cents (for whatever it is worth!) to Jessica Lynn would be you can't put registry cards with your invites. But! Word of mouth is the best way to get things out anyway. Your aunts will be calling your mom to gossip about the wedding, and your mom will throw that right in. And your friends? Well, they'll be calling you to gossip, no?

A friend of mine was in the same dilemma (and we will be also in a few months) and she had her mother encourage shipping the gifts to the new location, but printing a picture of the gift. She said it was great - they got to see her reaction to the gift there in person, and she had very few gists to ship back.

Oh this "account noting" thing is a good idea. Might even be worth registering at a slightly more upscale place in an attempt to promote this. I just emailed my MOH to suggest the linens and lingerie shower (bet you didn't think I would combine the two did you :)

You guys rock, as always.

hey ladies! here's another question regarding gifts & etiquette. is it ok to slip in the information cards from the 2-3 places we registered into the invitation envelope? I ask because other than listing it on our wedding website (and who knows how many guests will look there!) I have no idea how to get the word out. What do you think!?
