Success!
So excited to report a major vow renewal planning hurdle overcome - the OOT baskets have been purchased and I’m so thrilled with what we found. Alas no pictures as I am blogging from the road but it’s going to be great!
We have also purchased the attendant’s dress and I couldn’t be more happy with our choice.
Yay for progress!

Mini-Mooning It.
6 months into our relationship, Hunter and I spent a month backpacking Europe together. It was one of the best times of our lives. It was also an amazing opportunity to get to know each other in a new way. Being together 24/7 for 31 days, navigating foreign countries in foreign languages, in the biggest heatwave of the decade was a true test of our strength. I really believe that traveling together should be a pre-requisite of marriage. There would probably be a lot less divorce that way.

As evidenced by our taste, we’re big fans of the cultural and artistic influences of Asia, but neither of us have been there and we’re desperate to remedy that situation. The honeymoon seems like a perfect excuse. But affording a trip like that on top of a wedding is…. laughable in our circumstances.

Date Night: Date Your Mate
Some of the best advice we received during our engagement period was “Date your mate!” Written somewhat sarcastically by a single friend, the phrase stuck in my mind. We have not missed those opportunities during the first two years of marriage. A date gives each of you a chance to sit down and talk. To ask, “How are you?” instead of “Why the &&*#%@ are linen rentals so expensive?” Dating reminds us why we are doing this: for the relationship, not the wedding day! At some point, you run out of creative ideas for dates. EAD is here to help you with this! Consider this the inaugural version of EAD’s new feature: Date Night! Each week we’ll be posting a new date idea.
For various reasons, the hubby and I are on budget right now. So this first Date Night feature will be a budget date. This will not always be true, so expect some fancier (my new favorite word) dates that might be a little harder on the wallet.

Real Weddings: Molly + Jeremy
Luke Walker and I have been blog-friends for a while (he’s also engaged to another fab photog and blog-friend, Alisha Clark). So I was very excited when he sent over Molly and Jeremy’s wedding, held at the gorgeous Aurora Inn.

Day After Portraits
I am really looking forward to our day after portraits! When we first met with our photographer and were talking about different packages, she brought up and suggested we do day after portraits. I had never really heard of these before, but they are a great way to get some beautiful portraits of the two of you without having to worry about getting your dress dirty, keeping your guests waiting, or anything else you may be thinking of the day of your wedding. You can just relax and have some fun!

Strasburg Children
My sister’s daughter is a wedding professional. As in, she’s so cute everyone in our family asks her to be a flower girl. When I asked her to be in my wedding, she had only one requirement. Her request? That her dress not be scratchy. She was tired of itchy seams in the dresses! Our solution? The fabulous French seams of Strasburg Children.
For those of you with children in your weddings, I highly recommend this shop. We were able to find the cutest pink silk dupioni dresses at a reasonable price. The dresses were also extremely comfortable and we had no complaints from the little girls in our wedding.
