Same-Day Editing

I must admit that my love of cinematography is new-found.  I’m a photography lover through and through but there is just something about seeing an event live and in color that is so powerful and moving.

Has everyone heard of the concept of same-day editing?  The cinematographer will film the events leading up to and through your ceremony and then use the time at the reception to edit the video so that it can be shown that day to your guests.  Which is first of all, amazing that it’s even possible, and second of all, just so cool.

This same day edit by StillMotion is absolutely incredible.  We’ve spoken before of our love for StillMotion – they make our hearts go pitter-patter.  But to think that all of this editing was accomplished in just a few short hours… it’s quite a feat and requires so much talent and creativity!

StillMotion maintains a blog which is full of amazing highlight films, SDEs, and trailers.  You must check it out (and if you’re like me, make sure you’ve got some tissues handy.  I’m a crier, and if you are too, trust me, you’ll need them).

we heart your comments!
  1. I did my first wedding where Still Motion was the videographer and they did an SDE. Griffen and Curtis! It was amazing.

  2. Her SDE is so amazing. I teared up the first time I watched it. It’s just breathtaking. Those guys are super talented.

If they made this into a full length film I just might pay $8 to go to the movies and watch it on the big screen.

  4. I’m speechless. When can I get married again?
Thanks for sharing – this is an incredible idea.

  5. Isn’t this video awesome? Still Motion is fantastic- three other great companies (all based in the Philippines!) have awesome SDEs too- Mayad Studios, Threelogy, and Jason Magbanua. Check out their videos on Vimeo or Youtube- they are AWESOME! I’ve also posted some videos on Weddingbee, if you want to pop over and check em out ;)

geesh, think I typed out ‘awesome’ enough in that comment? sorry, my brain is fried today!

  7. Patrick Moreau and his crew are one of the best in the business…expensive yes…but the production value is top notch and the moments preserved. His wife Amina is an amazing photographer as well.
