A Black and White Damask Bridal Shower Affair

I have always loved the whimsical and elegant look of damask prints. I didn’t quite know how it would fit into my vision for the wedding so I saved it all for the bridal shower. Yes, I couldn’t let go of the control of my shower which was hosted by my two sisters, Celine (my maid of honor) and Christine (my bridesmaid).

I assure you, they did not mind that I, the bridezilla, stepped in with special requests (*cough, *cough, I mean orders). I did however make it a point to cut costs where we could so it wasn’t THAT bad.

A very generous fellow bride that I met on the bridal boards loaned to me her black & white damask linen which we folded in half and turned into a runner. She also let us borrow her assorted white vases she bought from Ikea. We filled the vases with fresh flowers from Trader Joe’s & Costco. I loved the “pop” of various purple hues against the linen design.

We lucked out and found black & white damask chargers from Home Goods for $3 each!

For party favors, my sister Celine bought freshly baked cookies from Diddy Riese, a UCLA student’s favorite. These favors also served as place settings. Celine wrapped up three different cookie flavors in a bag and rubber stamp embossed each personalized name tag. She used the same color lemon grass ribbon from the wedding.

We also found these black cake holders with dangling crystals at TJ Maxx! Score! I got my shabby chic theme in there too!

My friends, like myself, love to eat and drink Sangria! Notice how each plate is FULL! Believe me, the Creme Brulee French Toast, Chicken Pasta with Creamy Tomato and fresh berries were tasty.

We all enjoyed the South Bay sunshine that day. And I think everyone left the shower happy with their bellies full!
