When you don’t have time for decor…
…the trick is choosing a venue that doesn’t really need any.
Those of you who recall my previous guest blogging stint, when I was still in the planning stage, may also recall that I was pretty averse to many so-called wedding traditions. And it’s true that while I was very traditional with many aspects of my wedding, I also sought the unexpected where my personal style did not match other people’s preconceived notions of what makes a wedding a wedding.
The selection of my venue was one of my more tradition-minded decisions. Those of you who are not New Yorkers may recognize The Central Park Boathouse from its cameos in such movies as “21 Dresses.” It is one of the most traditional, expected wedding venues in New York City. However, I knew before I got engaged that I wanted my wedding there because it strikes the perfect balance for my tastes: elegant, classic, relaxed and picture-perfect. Even better, with the exception of flowers and a few final touches, it requires little dressing-up for weddings and other events. Added bonus: the food is out of this world!

I’m shooting there next April, yeah!
Gotta agree with you – the food is VERY good!
You’re right – your venue and its location are beautiful!
