At my first meeting with a caterer, she informed me that all the caterers in my hometown use paper plates and utensils for weddings because many of the venues don't have dishwashers and "people like to know they're eating from a clean plate." She doubled her price if real dishware was used. Seriously? Have you ever wondered if your plate was clean simply because it wasn't disposable? Fortunately, caterer #2 never mentioned plastic forks and paper plates, was a perfect fit for what we wanted, and was in budget. You had me cracking up with the paper plate references! I also had a VERY budget friendly wedding that cost under $18k that we paid for. We are also in the DFW area and used April, May, June Deisgns for our flowers and they turned out AMAZING. We went with an inexpensive photographer also and I thought our photos turned out beautifully! AND the number one cost saver was DIY!! We made EVERYTHING for our wedding and we saved so much money.
