Victoria submitted these positively lovely compass escort cards.
To reflect our wedding’s vintage inspiration, my fiance’s career as a Naval Aviator, and my career as a writer, we created these compass escort cards. The idea of a compass, however, can be appropriate to any bride’s wedding, as the compasses reflect the idea of a guest “finding” his or her seat.
You will need:
- Tiny compasses in bulk from an online trade company like Graphic Ice or China Trade Online
- Ribbon
- 1.625″ x 3.25″ chipboard tags (mine were purchased from a scrapbooking company called Create for Less)
- Properly sized labels (2.5″ x 1.563″ from Online Labels) in your wedding colors.
Instructions:
In a vintage typewriter font, print this quote on the labels: “At night, there was the feeling that we had come home, feeling no longer alone, waking in the night to find the other one there, and not gone away; all other things were unreal–we were never lonely and never afraid when we were together.” Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms.
Assemble by placing labels on chipboard tags and tying compasses to tags. Use the same labels on the opposite side of the tags to write guests’ names and table numbers.

Thanks for featuring those! :)
cute idea!
I love this personal touch and the quote that goes with it. Couples who put themselves into the wedding really make it special and memorable.
This is so original and personal. What a fantastic idea! And so creative!
