Marquee venues seem to be a law unto themselves. I have been doing some research lately on marquee sites in the South East and have been amazed at how huge the prices difference can be - from £250 for just the site at one very cheap (but nice) venue to £25,000 at one yes very grand but still ridicululously expensive one. Lots of phone calls - as you did - is the only way to do it. Glad you found such a beautiful and affordable venue in the end. Very interesting post to me.
