I think thiese door hangers are great. I work for a boutique resort property that would love to put these in their guest rooms. Would you ever consider replicating them for our hotel?

@jls – the sealer is used because wood is porous and sealer helps you to have a smooth surface to paint on. and yes to varnish! you want to end up with an even surface and have everything protected.

it was really time consuming, but i really loved the end result!

I really like this idea. Can I ask why you used the sealer? And I’m guessing you used the varnish to coat the whole thing so the letters wouldn’t get scratched off? I am trying to pare down my DIY projects, and I really like this but it seems…very….time consuming. :-)

We have ours hanging on our bedroom and bathroom doors. Even my husband thinks they are really cool.
