Getting Pretty

Today’s post is all about getting pretty!  After spending the morning of the vow renewal at Vis-a-Vis Salon in Buckhead getting our hair done, it was back to the hotel to get ready.

I am so lucky that one of my best friends, Marcella, is an esthetician.  She always does an absolutely perfect job on my makeup!

I was a two-dress “bride” - that’s a story for another post.  The gown that we chose for me to wear in the portraits is Lucia by Claire Pettibone.

Funny story. When we were leaving Chicago, I gave a good friend who was coming to Atlanta for the vow renewal a key to our apartment in case we forgot anything.  A day or so after Christmas, I realized that I did indeed forget something: my wedding ring!  I called her, she brought it, all was well.

My lips look all Julia Roberts in this picture and I kinda dig it.  My lips are not at all Julia Roberts in real life.

Because the shoes that I was set to wear with this dress were ballroom shoes, I actually wore my sister’s Kate Spade heels for these photos and the walk to the venue.

And we can’t forget the real star of the show - Charlie!!!  Charlie had gotten a bath and fluff at the Atlanta Dog Spa for the occasion.  He does not yet have his bow tie on in this photo but I L-O-V-E it so I had to post it.  Look at his adorable fluffy paws!

Looking back at these, I’m sad I didn’t have my sister with me for the photos.  I also haven’t seen a best man photo yet.   :(
