I’ll admit growing up I dreamed of the perfect white dress wedding complete with a tiara and a veil. But come on as an Indian bride you get not one but at least three gorgeous dresses! I actually had four since we had four major events of the wedding together and believe it or not I purchased them all in one day while in India! Yes you read right I bought four dresses in one day and trust me shopping in India is not like shopping here, there the salesmen try to show you everything they have in stock besides what you described. So without further ado here are my four gorgeous dresses:
From the Henna night:
This one was my favorite of the four and I actually wanted to wear it at my reception bet per my mom it wasn’t heavy enough. I loved the metal work on the skirt and the multi-colored brocade blouse.
For our garba (dance) night:
Yes blue again (Jay and I always somehow end up in blue :) ) but a totally different style. This was more traditional of what is worn during garba time and since garba is one of my favorite forms of dance I wanted something light and flowy so I could dance the night away!
For the actual wedding:
Our outfits are traditionally white with a red drape that goes over the head. (I don’t have that on yet because this was before the wedding). I looked at quite a few outfits at a few different stores but this was the best one that still went along with all the traditional colors. The stone work on this was gorgeous but it made the skirt and the drape SO heavy. It was super unbearable to wear but once the excitement kicked in I didn’t feel the heaviness anymore!
For our reception:
I tried on so many outfits before purchasing this one and I loved the unusual color scheme as well as the brocade fabric and the bead work on the skirt. I also liked the cut of the skirt which was snug around the hips and flared out, it is absolutely gorgeous to see in reality.

What beautiful dresses! Buying all four in one day is quite a feat! It took me a month to find just one dress!
Your dresses are amazing, each one so so pretty. I don’t think a white dress and tiara could ever measure up to the color and detail in your dress fabrics.
My mom works at a school and she has an Indian girl who is her assistant. She recently gave my mom fabric from India so she could have a dress made. It is amazing to see and touch it. So beautiful!
Thanks you guys! I can’t believe I picked them all out in one day either!
what a lovely wedding saries, and the model too..
Absolutely lovely and refreshing…keep it up.
