Ugh! Maybe some pictures of what you are looking for would help you? I mean, my only foray into a bridal salon was post buying a dress from Chrissy Wai-Ching. But maybe?

Good luck with your search. I wanted a dress with no beading. I actually left several stores b/c they didn't have any dresses without. I ended up with a sample dress from several years back that the store had been holding onto. I can't find a picture of it online anywhere. Go figure.

I had a similar experience with someone telling me what a wedding dress "should" be- sadly, it was on the rehearsal night! My church's wedding coordinator has a tradition where the bride to be signs a "practice train" and then wears it to get comfortable walking down an aisle with a train. Great idea (I loved seeing all the signatures and adding my own) but when I said I wasn't too worried about tripping since *I didn't have a train* she literally gasped. Her exact words were "but ALL brides have a train. Otherwise it's just a dress."

Either way, I absolutely loved loved my dress- even sans train. Good luck with your search!

Kasia, from the silhouettes you are leaning towards to may be you'd like the designer I discovered - Mikaella www.mikaellabridal.com or their more expensive line - www.palomablanca.com. Almost all of their dresses are mermaid, form fitting, very well made. And Mikaella pricing starts at $1,000, Paloma Blanca from $1,400.

I LOVE that Angel Sanchez dress. stunning.

additionally, I'm appalled by that woman's behavior. completely unacceptable.

I hope you find something that you love soon!

Why don't you try creating your own dress, at some place like Olivia Luca? Or maybe an etsy seller, like abstractpretty, danillemariedesign, or littleredsparrow. Their dresses aren't exactly what you're looking for, but etsy sellers are so great about custom orders.

Have you seen any dresses from the Romona Keveza line? Not necessarily this year's but even 2-4 years back. (Some bridal salons carry samples even 5 years old... RK still makes them). Many of her designs are VERY sleek and sheik and so timeless. Definitely Oscar runway worthy. The material is beyond gorgeous. I had a RK that was very Audrey Hepburn, a little more bridal than Oscars, but still check her out!
