and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of Elizabeth Anne Designs!
Although these four short sentences don’t sum up my life entirely, it does give you a glimpse into the world of Abby.
As a professional wedding specialist and a bride to be, I have a unique perspective on planning a wedding. I think the most charming weddings are those that cultivate great relationships and add personality and individuality to the wedding night. It is not about the amount of money that is spent or what gifts you may receive, it is about the feelings that are felt and the laughs that are shared.
Throughout my time here on EAD, I will share with you my journey and advice on wedding planning. My fiance, Ger, is from Ireland while I am originally from Pennsylvania. Currently we live in Boston, MA but just moved from San Francisco. It has been quite a challenge deciding on a venue to get married at since our guest list will be spread all over the world. Although we haven’t set a date yet, we know the day will be inspired by a very Provence, rustic, vintage feel. We are looking to incorporate a lot of DIY projects as well as design the flower arrangements, cake and look of the evening all on our own.
I’ll first start our journey of how we met…
It all started our freshman year of College. We unexpectedly had dinner together with a few mutual friends and without knowing each other we found ourselves sitting next to each other. One of the girls at the table had her niece visiting and Ger commented that if he had a girl, he’d name her Abby…well one thing lead to another and we ended up talking all evening. We found out so many strange coincidences such as him living on Brennanstown Road in Ireland (Brennan being my last name) among many things. It was fate.
That night was so…cue cliche…”magical.” a week passed and Christmas vacation came and I found myself thinking about Ger constantly. It was like a movie…small town girl meets dark handsome European boy. We come from two different worlds, could this be happening? A month after we were back, he whisked me away to Ireland to show me where he grew up as a child and to meet his family. It was truly life altering. He has inspired me to be who I am without any reservation and go for my dreams. From that point forward, I never looked back and we’ve been happy ever since.
I hope you enjoyed my post and were able to get to know me better. Next Monday, I will write all about our engagement!
If you want to see more, feel free to stop over to Peaches By Plums.
I’m really looking forward to sharing my Mondays with all of you!
