Real Weddings: Heather and Gian

Heather and Gian just have the most adorable story – they met while working as researchers at UCLA, *pretending* that they were a couple.  And through the course of their research they fell in love!  How sweet is that?

Their gorgeous Malibu wedding, photographed by the fabulous Jasmine Star and coordinated by the equally fabulous Joyful Weddings and Events featured a great color palette of deep reds, purples, and pinks.

Here are our beautiful and insanely happy bride and groom:

Fans were provided for each guest at the ceremony, held outdoors at the Calamigos Ranch.  This is such a thoughtful touch!

Pomanders on shepherd’s hooks lined the aisles and were scattered hanging on ribbons from the trees too!  All of the amazing florals were created by JL Designs.

Every little detail was coordinated, right down to the decoration of the flower girl baskets.

The deep mauve orchid boutonniere worn by Gian is just gorgeous – love this vibrant look with his classic tux.

Small pillar candles wrapped in ribbon lined the walkway from ceremony to reception.  The ribbon wrapping was a theme throughout the event, tying (pardon the pun!) everything together.  Comfy lounge furniture was also provided and added such a fun element to the event.

I love this tent!  It is just a magical set-up.

Low and lush centerpieces in the dark and dramatic reds and purples were placed in ribbon-wrapped vases on pintuck linens from Elegant Designs.  The couple also prepared a Newlywed Survey for their guests to amuse themselves with, and provided Diddy Reese Cookies as favors (packaged in Papermart boxes, using labels from My Wedding Labels).

The “guest book” was a collection of paper hearts, where guests were encouraged to write personal messages to the couple and hang them on streamers with clothespins.

And the cake – ah, the cake.  The Cake Divas are at it again with this phenomenal off-center layered cake.  They also made delicious cupcakes to accompany the cake!

Some classic portraits of Heather and Gian – the photo on the staircase is absolutely magical.
