Loco for Gocco

Yesterday was my birthday and after a long search, I finally found and purchased a Gocco as my birthday gift to myself. I’ve basically been on the fence about purchasing a Gocco for a year at this point and naturally, by the time I realized just how much I wanted one they were completely sold out basically everywhere. Oops! Oh well, after some sleuthing and a shout out on my blog and some great tips from my readers, I found one and it is supposed to ship today. Hooray! So in the spirit of all things Gocco, I thought I’d share some of my favorite Gocco inspiration.

I am completely loco for Gocco and I am so excited!

I got a gocco as a present from my mother-in-law to print our wedding invites. It’s easy to use, but here are a few tips:
-use the xerox design asap, if you wait, for some reason it doesnt transfer to the screen well
-dont try to print light colors on dark paper unless you want a lot of hassle

I love my gocco, and only wish that I had used it on more wedding projects!

Some advice:

Buy PLENTY of extra supplies. At first, I used so many screens and bulbs. Also, once you get a screen you like, you can reuse it. I didn’t know this and am kicking myself now for having to reburn new screens of old images.

Gocco ink embosses fabulously! Use fine detail powder for text.

You can use printouts from laser printers if they’re in b&w instead of xeroxing them.

Northwood Studios is the best resource for supplies at this time… they’re getting more expensive, though. :o(

Happy Goccoing!! I hope you love it as much as I do!! :o)

I am so in love with the CD holder!

How cool to see Mrs. Penguin’s coasters…I loved those!

I’ve been wanting a gocco for some time too. Though I’ve never used one, so I don’t know if it’s silly to buy something I’ve never tried. Your post inspires me to go for it. Lovely!

[...] While I am not a believer that wedding favors are necessarily required, I fell completely in love with these cookie bundles tied with manilla shipping tags Kat (AKA Mrs. Cherry Pie) made for her recent Montana wedding and decided to create a version of my own as my first Gocco project after having finally scored a Gocco of my own.
