Since the bridesmaid lookbook, two of the three bridesmaids have found their dresses. I was honestly really afraid this would go badly. Maybe they wouldn’t like the color options, or they’d insist on matching dresses, or my style experts (the bridesmaids) would say this was a terrible idea. Unfounded worries, all of them.
Maid of Honor K. bought an Adrianna Papell cocktail dress.
It’s gorgeous in person, with a little bit of jacquard texture in the fabric and champagne pearls around the neckline. K. is the kind of girl who would look great in a paper bag, but a great dress never hurts.
Bridesmaid C. just decided on hers, from an Etsy seller. It’s champagne dupioni with a silver dupioni art deco bow at the waist. C. is my rock ‘n’ roll bridesmaid – although I am not a tattoo person myself (between the permanence and needles there’s no way), I really love hers. She also has a phenomenal rack. (C. is now dying a thousand deaths, reading this.) The square neckline will show off both nicely.
Our third bridesmaid is M., DJ’s brother’s wife. She’s a teacher, and now is not the right time of year to go swanning around dress shopping. She is a sweetheart and would shop now if it were important to me at all – but I like low-stress, we still have more than five months to go, and I think this is going amazingly well. Whew.
Are your bridesmaids choosing their own dresses? How did you go about making the decision?

Hi, Julia!
I love individual dresses. The first two are so cute here!
Nice post.
I love both of those dresses. Can you link to where they were each found? I love Adrianna Papell dresses and I haven’t seen that one before. Also I’m sure the etsy seller would love the link to their store.
Both gorgeous. I especially love the color combination in the second one. It’s a pairing I wouldn’t have thought of, but it’s lovely.
Do you mind sharing the link to the etsy dress, please?
Gorgeous dresses for your ladies! I have 4 bridesmaids, in 4 different states (none of which I’m in!), and one just had a baby, so that = I called and said, “hey, um, can you just pick out a navy dress that you feel good in?” They were all thrilled, and two actually already had dresses they were happy to wear! My sister and MOH has worked really hard and lost 20 pounds since December, so this was perfect for her, she bought a dress that accents her new figure last week for our May 9 wedding. Trying to order something months ahead would have been really tricky.
I have a friend who chose a beautiful silk fabric for her bridesmaids in her wedding color, sent them each some yards of it, then let them find a seamstress to design their own dress. They each got to wear *exactly* their style, they didn’t have to be in the same city, and the bride didn’t have to worry about them matching!
I love Adrianna Papell dress, but they are both beautiful. I would love the link to the first dress as well if it still exists . =)
