Sweet Scents

Lately, I’ve been debating what I might want to wear for our wedding weekend as far as fragrance is concerned. Trying new scents is something I love and it’s also something I share with my younger sister. In fact, we exchange fragrances every year for Christmas – sometimes it’s something new, sometimes it’s an old favorite.

My recent daily scent has been Burberry The Beat, this year’s Christmas gift from my sister. While I really love this fragrance, I think it might be a touch heavy for a July wedding when it’s sure to be hot and muggy in upstate NY. I think something lighter and more floral would be appropriate, so I’m debating between going with an oldie but goodie or trying something new, something that would hopefully take me back to the wedding day every time I wore it in the future.

These fragrances have become favorites of mine over the past few years. I could easily wear any of them on our wedding day and love what I was wearing. But perhaps it’s just more fun to try something new and have a signature wedding scent? I love fragrances in general so there’s fear that I wouldn’t gladly wear it time again afterward. Perhaps one of these is perfect?

Do you have a signature scent? Are you considering a new scent for your wedding day? Any suggestions as to a great signature wedding fragrance?

we heart your comments!

I have several scents that I wear, but a few are from Brasil, so I can’t get them very often, and one of those (of course it’s my favourite) was discontinued. I love Ralph by Ralph Lauren, and that’s probably what I’ll end up using.

i love dolce & gabbana light blue!! clinique happy heart is also a top choice. my other favorites also include moschino cheap & chic “i love love” and L.A.M.B. it’s going to be a tough choice!

I wore J’adore by Dior on my wedding day. It was the first time I had ever worn it and I only wear it now on special occasions. It really is amazing how my husband can recognize the smell and he always makes a comment about how it reminds him of our wedding day. I wear dolce and gabanna Light Blue as my everyday summer perfume.

I love the thought of having a signature scent! Though I’m still searching for mine … so far I like Marc Jacobs Daisy, Armani Mania, and Lacoste Inspiration. Thanks for the other ideas!

i’m not doing a new scent for wedding day but in general i highly recommend DKNY scents, i used to wear “DKNY” but since that’s been hard to find i love “Be Delicious”… oh and Issey Miyake is just heavenly (”L’eau D’issey” is especially beautiful!)

I have been using L’eau Par Kenzo since Uni days and never changed till now. I really like the scent on me and really can last for a long time :) and YES! i will be wearing it on my wedding day this December :)

I bought a new one so it would always hold memories of our special day– Miss Dior Cherie. Give it a sniff, it’s light and floral but dries down to a lovely, grown-up scent.

I’m wavering between Daisy, Miss Dior Cherie, and Stella by Stella McCartney. Stella I have worn before, and I love it so! My everyday staple is Eternity Moment by Calvin Klein… cheesy, I know – but something about my body chemistry mixes very well with it.
