Meag + Nick’s Chicago Engagement Session

Hailing from Colorado, Meagan and Nick are another of my many 2009 clients who reside outside Chicago. While I always do a phone consultation, so we can get a better idea about how our personalities will mesh, it’s always still such an interesting treat to be able to meet a couple for the first time at a connection session.  Meag and Nick recently paid a trip back to Chicago to do some wedding planning in the town that facilitated their meeting in optometry school, and we were fortunate to be able to schedule some time to take a few portraits and finally meet. All of us being morning people, we ended up shooting at 7:15 a.m. –  by far the earliest I’ve ever shot a couple!  I was curious to see what such an early morning wake-up call would yield, but I found shooting in the morning to be relaxing and refreshing; there is something special about shooting with the morning sun before the rest of the city awakes.

I am so looking forward to their beautiful October wedding at  The Onion Pub in the Chicago suburbs. Sounds like an interesting choice, but after considering several of the top downtown venues, Meag and Nick decided to choose a place that felt more like them, replete with beautiful windows, loads of natural light and a brewery on site.
