Thank you all for your advice - and PICTURES! I should have asked for pictures, but you all are above and beyond helpful and sent them anyway. So appreciated.

I haven't made a decision yet, but I'm considering a plan.

oh the veil! I think you can pull off a poof with an a-line. my question would be about your hair. She wore hers down and simple, which allowed a good balance for the big poof. A big poof would almost take the place of dramatic hair, you know?

go with what you love...

It depends HOW poofy your veil is. The first thing your guests should be looking at as your walking down the aisle, is you. Then your dress, then your veil, your bouquet, and so on. If there is too much poof, it off-sets that balance and it is no longer part of your ensemble, but a distraction, which is the last thing you want!

Does your bridal shop have some poofier veils? Mine was just a touch poofy. Just 2-layers, and I wore the one as a blusher when I walked down the aisle.

Some people say tulle is tulle, but it's not. If you're going to make your own, I would splurge on a high quality tulle. A less quality tulle feels itchy and isn't as sheer, which is especially important if you're wearing the one layer as a blusher. But, also important so you can see the back of your dress as you walk down the aisle.

That is a picture of my veil, and of course you are more than welcome to browse through my other wedding-day pictures to get a better idea of what my veil looked like, and what it looked like with my dress. My dress was an A-line as well (Casablanca 1900). One layer was too flat, and I for sure needed some poof.

Wow, sorry that was kinda an overload of info, but I hope that helps! Best of luck :)

i'm wearing a puffy veil too! i think it looks FANTASTIC with my trumpet dress so i imagine it would look just as great with an A-line.
mine was my mother's veil, 3 pieces (although i took the cathedral length off so it was originally 4) but they're all elbow length now... not sure it would work with all chapel. it's so ridiculously easy to make these your self... if you have a sewing machine it takes a matter of seconds, if you have a needle and thread it takes less than 20 minutes.
if you're going with the chapel length i'd recommend adding 2-3 layers of a shorter length on top (elbow or shorter), otherwise it'll be too heavy and you'll lose the poof you're going for on top
let me know if you want to see any p ictures of mine, i'd be happy to share : )
