Our Fall Invitations

When looking for our invitations, I knew a few things for sure.

1) I had no desire to do them myself.  I’ve read and been amazed by so many blogger brides before me who braved the world of creating and making their invitation suites.  I had no desire to follow in their footsteps.  The process just looked too overwhelming to attempt!

2) I didn’t want anything formal, and I wanted the invitations to reflect the laid back casual vibe I was going for.

3) I KNEW I could find some amazing, unique invitations on Etsy.

So off to etsy I went.  I searched “fall wedding invitations” and some AMAZING options came up.  After searching for what felt like forever, I found them.  As soon as I saw the picture I knew they were the ones.

Etsy seller, One Reverie creates some chic, clean, unique invitations.  After talking with them for a little while, they mailed me a sample invitation, and it was GORGEOUS!

{sorry for the grainy photo!}

As you can see, we had her add another bird to the branch, and we are still working on the wording, but this is basically what it will look like.

As far as the logistics of the invitation, I’m not doing an inner envelope because I don’t really think they are necessary.  The outer envelope is a chocolate brown, and I’m thinking about DIY the envelope liners-because I’ve seen some pretty good tutorials on them.  My mom and my aunt THANKFULLY have gorgeous handwriting so they will be addressing them in a gold paint pen.

I absolutely DESPISE the stamp options our USPS has to offer us.  HOWEVER, I’m pretty excited about these two options, so we will probably be going with one of them:

sunflower stamps
king queen stamps

The other option I’m considering for stamps is zazzle.  I LOVE this option:

I really like these a lot, but I’m not crazy about the “zazzle.com” writing down the side of the stamp.  AH, it’s just one of those things I’m going to have to decide what’s more important to me!

What was your invitation process?  Did you go with the formal, intricate option?  Or did you prefer a more informal option?

we heart your comments!
  1. Although I’m not in a position to be thinking about which stamps for my invitations are the best—well, yet anyway! I think the Zazzle are my favorite. Don’t worry about the writing though, at least I wouldn’t, because I doubt people will really notice it much. The lettering is black and that kind of blends in with the stuff on the right of the stamp. Doesn’t Zazzle let you create your own stamp image too? Wouldn’t it be cool if you scanned in your invite and used part of the tree or the birds? That would be too cute :)

  2. Girl your sample invitation is fabulous!!! Seriously Fabulous!!!
The colors and the design of that tree with those two little love birds! PERFECT! :)

We’re using the same line for our invites! “Together we laugh, we dream, we love, and on this day we marry.” Can’t wait to share them! Hopefully they’ll be complete in two weeks :)

  4. The zazzle one is my favorite too, and I really like the idea of using the birds! If you use the sunflower one, you’ll have to find 1 or 2 cent stamps that you like to include on your envelopes as well. For your invitation, maybe have the first paragraph of the text on top of the names? I like how the names break up the text on the sample invite, it makes it look a little less wordy. Or, maybe take the “together we laugh…” line, put it in a different (italicized?) font underneath the tree?

Use the Zazzle. I’ve used them for other things before and they are very professional and always timely.
