I had a strict list of criteria - it had to be summer and a Saturday (so june, july or august) but my mum also insisted it was during a school holiday as all my immediate family are teachers. This coupled with my dislike of travelling at the start of a holiday (too many kids) mean there was only one weekend - the first weekend in June. Summer 2010 is majorly busy so June 5th 2011 was the date we've settled on :)

I am also getting married on 06/12/10! Our date choice fell into place after consulting with out-of-town family - which is actually all of our family. We started with our parents and worked from there. The date didn't jive with everyone, but we did our best. I'm looking forward to an al fresco celebration!

My fiance and I wanted a long engagement to save up for the wedding. We got engaged on Feb 18th this year which was our 6 year anniversary. Our anniversary falls on a Saturday in 3 years in 2012 so that's when we're getting married.
We want to keep our anniversary date because we go out each month on the 18th for a date night, it would be weird to get married on another date...

The date choosing was a nightmare wrapped up in the venues, of course. I wanted September 19, 2009 but would have settled for any September date. After LOTS of back and forth (maybe October? Halloween? Bump it up to June?), we got all the planets to align for August 8, 2009. So I lost 6 weeks on the planning end (with now only a 8-ish-month engagement) but my MOH found out she was pregnant right around my venue-booking time so now at least she'll be able to be there!

I am having SUCH a dilemma trying to figure out if we should have ours in June or September, I think it's going to be made with a flip of the coin.

I'm still torn about what date to choose. It's either memorial day weekend, June 5, or June 12th 2010. It will be in Baltimore at a historic, un-airconditioned castle. 90% of our guests are from out of town, so mem. day traffic might be bad, plus there are proms that weekend. June 5th was my first choice (have a hold on that date) but now i'm told there are 2 HS graduations in my family that day. June 12th is open at our venue but I'm worried about the heat. People are telling me to just stick with my date, because even if I change it they might not come.
