I made some stands very similar to this for my wedding!

I used glass/bead glue to attach them. Be careful when trying to create the seal between the two; the pressed glass has ridges that make it difficult to get a good hold between the lower part and the bottom of the plate. Hope it works out well for you!!

I love this idea! I'm a huge fan of incorporating vintage dishes into the reception. After all is said and done, you'll have some lovely keepsakes that you'll use for special occasions for years to come. I'm thinking of using vintage pieces (maybe jadite?) for my centerpieces. I love love love this!! It's so sweet and custom to you, I agree with you on the silver cake stand thing...soooo overdone! And for the 'unicorny' bride, if you like the look of this glass but want white you can always use some tempera paint and paint the backside of the glass in white, it's beautiful and you don't lose the detail. And that can normally be removed if soaked in some soapy water after your big day. And I have seen a lot of that white milky glass at the Thrift Stores lately, good luck! I thought I was the only person looking for a cake stand 14″ that was not a silver stand! I’ve been searching for a white cake stand for days, and I have had no luck. :[ I didn’t even think about your solution!
