A Hairy Situation…

Welcome to the EAD Weddings blog! We are so excited to have you here. If you are a new visitor, we'd love for you to subscribe to our RSS feed and visit our sister site, EAD Living. Thanks for visiting and we hope you come back soon!

Ok, so we are 115 days away from our wedding.  WOW.  That seems so close to me-and I know from following blogging brides that these days go by FAST!

I’m trying to decide what to do with my hair, and I hope you lovely ladies can help me!

First of all, I have very fine, wavy hair.  I straighten it all the time-as I can never get the curl to look right.  However, when it dries naturally, Vince LOVES it.  He is a big fan of curls, so I really would like to wear my hair in curls on our wedding day.  I don’t want to wear it down, though-because it tends to get very frizzy when I’m warm-and frizzy hair is not conducive to dancing the night away.

SO, I’m thinking something like this:

My mom says it’s too messy, so I found LC’s hair in this image below:

The next image is my absolute favorite.  I just don’t know if my hair will hold up like this all day!  My hair stylist says she can do it and make it stick, but I’m a little worried-again about the frizz.  I already got my fascinator and birdcage veil- so I think it would look great with this hairstyle.

Of course, I had to include my favorite wedding hair of ALL time.  This style would never work with my hair, but I absolutely love it-and if I had straight hair I would do this in a heartbeat!! This wedding was featured on EAD-go look at it right now!!

So ladies, what are you doing with your hair?  Any of you out there with hair like mine?  Do you have any precious advice for me to achieve the sexy, romantic, classic bridal hair I’m looking for??

we heart your comments!

I have hair similar to yours. Its naturally wavy but I straighten it every day. And my fiancee LOVES when I wear it curly. I have a few suggestions from my trial and errors ;o)

I dont think the first one is too messy, but it does depend on your dress. As for the one you love at the bottom there (not the bangs one) you can deifnitely make that stay. I use just mousse in mine, then top it with an anti-humidity hairspray and it works wonders. My secret though, start with a root booster. It works WONDERS for me. I use TIGI Bed Head root boost, and I love it. Frizz-Ease root booster also works well.

Another thing I do - use the root booster and then some Frizz-Ease mousse, and blow dry your hair. Curl it with a 1″ curling iron (I do it in 3 or 4 layers) and spray it with anti humidity spray and let it settle for a few hours before you put it up. This is my fiancees favorite, he raves every time I do it. it looks natural too, not like curling iron prom curly hair. I can send pics if you’d like to see them, just let me know!

oh, and my wedding hair actually looks a lot like the LC photo. Only its parted on the side and its a low side pony/bun kind of thing. I love it =o)

I had my hair styled after a photo I found of Carrie Underwood. It didn’t turn out exactly like the picture, but close enough and I loved it.

Here is a link to the style, although I had found better images of the side and back before. http://profashionelle.com/category/celebrity-copycat/

Oh I LOVE the 3rd style! soooo pretty! If your stylist can make it work you should def go for it!

oh my gosh i have the same problem. wavy hair that gets frizzy in heat. and after 25 years i still don’t know how to make it look good myself! but I love the third picture, are there more pictures of that style? or a source? I am having trouble understanding how her hair is done in that picture.

for my wedding, i am worried that a stylist is going to make my hair into ringlets or something, when what i really want is natural waviness!

I wish i had some advice for you, but i’m right there with you!

A story relating to Style #1: My hair was almost identical to Style #1 when I was the MOH in my sister’s wedding. I wanted something fun, so the stylist really went all out. Towards the end of the night, my sister’s father in law, who had been enjoying the open bar called me over to say “I don’t care what anybody says about your hairdo. I like it and think you look cute!” I was a bit taken aback that my wild hairdo was the topic of conversation - with someone’s father-in-law no less. Style #1 may be a little too fun. You don’t want everyone going “Look at her hair” rather than “Look at the bride.”

Yeah, its not difficult to get great hairstyles with short hair.. The easiest way is to use hair extension. You can take a small portion of hair from the front and tie it on the back using a clip. It’ll create a wonderful hairstyle.
