Great story!
And yes, I do recognise the fealing of great happiness when deciding that we both are changing names as well. He took his grandmothers lastname, really unique and special, and when married I'll be the only one in the country with my combination of first and last name.

What a great story! Your post made me all weepy. :-) I think it's great that you'll share a family name that means so much for so many different reasons. What a great legacy!

Gosh, this email suddenly made me feel very emotional and I wasn't in that sort of mood at all today. It shows how much really is in a name. Congratulations to you, your mister and his "new" Dad.

What a beautiful and inspiring post. Thank you so much for sharing it! Although I am weary about taking someone else's name (due to more of my feminist leanings) I love this post for placing the emphasis on SHARED love.

I really wanted to share my fiancé's last name as well... but wanted to keep my name too. We talked about combining- but our last names would combine weirdly- sputney, spitten, sputton.... lol.
so- to my delight, my fiancé informed me that he would love to hyphenate WITH me our names, so we both share our last names.... YAY :)

EcoYogini’s most recent blog post: Greenwashing and Cleaners...
