Hi Shelley,

Thanks so much for the kind words. The envelopes look amazing with the vintage stamps! It's wonderful to see them in your home. I wanted to let your readers know that I recently started a vintage postage service (precisely because I was asked to often where to find them). You tell me the theme/colors and I track them down. More info on my website & blog. Thanks & all the best to you!

Shelley, I also want to use calligraphy and vintage stamps, I just love the look (even more after seeing yours!!). I've actually started to learn calligraphy and am hoping to do my invitations myself...I think I'm asking someone for a panic attack, but hopefully they'll turn out well :)

Hi Alison, oh no! That is so weird about your stamps falling off!! We haven't discovered that problem yet (fingers crossed we never do) and as far as we know all the invitations arrived safely. In fact, we even made a mistake and starting laying down the stamps on one of the envelopes in the wrong corner! So we tried to peel them off and it was disastrous! Took some creative thinking to make that envelope look good...

I put an ad in the local paper and that's how I got all my vintage stamps (I also used Mara, she's amazing!) I would recommend that whole-heartedly.

BUT--for everyone who is reading this--SUPER GLUE your vintage stamps to the envelopes. Even though they looked secure on my coffee table, MANY MANY stamps fell off when being mailed. Some invitations never got delivered. Please! Super glue! (I even used a regular gluestick, to no avail.)

Hi Karen, good! Go for it! A was meh too. He was afraid the invitations wouldn't get to our guests if we used the vintage stamps. Ha, silly men...

Anyways, the place in Boston is I believe called the Trading Post. It's on the corner of Bromfield and Tremont, across from the old graveyard. I will say the service wasn't great and neither was the selection for anything affordable.

The ebay seller I used was good though, perky252.

I, too, am doing vintage stamps. My fiance is meh about them, but I think he'll turn around once he sees them in the flesh.

Who did you use in Boston for the stamps? I'm looking for some locally as well. Ebay is great, but the cost of shipping kind of makes it pricier than I'd like.
