Help Kelly pick a lipcolor!

Okay, here are the two choices. Both are Covergirl outlast and in the berry family. The first is timeless ruby, and it seems a bit more magenta/fuchsia to me. The second is wine satin and it’s a little more red. I know they aren’t that different, but humor me. It’s a big decision.

pardon that dorky expression on the first face, I’m not a good photography subject and besides that, Garrett makes me laugh.

So, number 1 or number 2?

Oh, and stay tuned next week when I will hopefully have my hair dyed (eek!) something resembling my natural blonde color (which is very much alive in about half of my hair, and while I call it “golden blonde” it’s a little bit brassy/dirty).

we heart your comments!

    Oh Kelly, you are just so cute!
    I’d go with #1. But honestly, they are very similar! If you get bored with one color during the night, you could totally switch.

  2. I vote on the second one, I like the tone better.

    2nd one.

  4. Love number one!

  5. #2!! Looks a bit younger and spunkier…

    I think number 2 is by far the best one! But you look pretty in both-good luck!

  7. I think the 2nd one by far!!

    2nd one :)

    I like #2 more, but that’s because I’m not really big makeup girl and it’s a little more natural looking.

  10. I like #2 – but try blotting a little bit for a different look. Sometimes that can help make up your mind, and really that’s how it will look most of the day!

    #1!

    I think the first one is more flattering with your gorgeous skin tone. And I love your hair in that photo too.
    Would you be able to do a makeup tutorial? I want to look lovely for my wedding day (of course), and I could use some help in the area of makeup! Yours always looks so lovely.

    i vote for #1 – it’s a little pinker which i love with your skin tone!

  14. I think the first color makes your eyes pop a little bit more. It’s playful and sweet. If you can’t choose, go with the second color for the ceremony and the first for the reception. I’m sure you’ll look beautiful either way!

  15. one one one – definitely one. Looks fab with your skin tone and somehow friendlier than the other one (not sure why I think that though!)

  16. absolutely number 1!!! i can totally tell a difference between the two. i’ve worked as a makeup product developer for over 15 years so i spend my days analyzing tones of colors. number 2 is way too yellow for you and doesn’t photograph very well. number one is brighter and looks amazing with your eye color & skin tone!!!

  17. I like #2, its a little less glittery/pink and a little more glam looking IMHO

  18. I really like number one.

  19. #1 makes your eyes pop in the photo and is more flirty/charming! #2 is rustic and classic.

    #1! I like the more berry look!

  21. Kristin writes... {August 7, 2009 at 5:20 pm}

    #1 for sure! The second color is a bit too orange for you.

  22. Abby writes... {August 7, 2009 at 6:58 pm}

    #1 for sure!! You looks so vibrant and vivacious.

  23. Emma writes... {August 7, 2009 at 9:23 pm}

    Number one :-)

  24. I think # 1. I love that it is a little deeper and seems more formal. They’re both nice though :) Like someone said before me, since you got both lip sticks, you can always switch it up during the night! I’m a photographer and I’ve seen brides (on other blogs) switch from a light neutral lipstick for during the ceremony to a deep red for a more dramatic effect in their portraits.

  25. No 1 definitely!

    It just looks cuter and cooler!

  26. Definitely #1!!
