We compromised by deciding to play his music during the dinner hour, and then letting me have free rein over the dance music. I'm glad I'm not the only one appalled by Celine Dion being on the playlist!! That said, we just went to my sister's wedding with a fantastic DJ that played mostly 80s+90s dance music, and I think the FI got the hint about what was popular for dancing. Or at least I hope he did. Pray for me. (Whew!) I don't think he did much dance-partying through school and so the music he might enjoy listening to, while generally pretty good, is not necessarily great for PARTYING -- which is really the main objective of the wedding reception. I logged into our DJ's playlist website where we can add songs earlier today and saw he had been in there and added a few partykillers. oof! :) that said, it's something that will have to be dealt with with some degree of tact. After all, it is our wedding, not just mine.
