The Importance of a List
I was home in Pennsylvania a couple weeks ago and got to spend some much needed time with my mom mapping out the wedding planning.
I am less then a year away and needed to start putting together a solid list of what needs to get done by August 7th. We spent a good 2 hours talking about everything that we could possibility think of that needs to get done.
Now that I am back in Boston, every time one of us thinks of something else we simply call each other up and add it to the list. For those of you who are planning a wedding in another city, state or country than your mother, I find that this is a great way to involve each other during this special time.
Here is a shot of our Wedding List (you can click to enlarge). It is currently about 5 pages long and keeps growing. It will feel great when I get to the time where I can start crossing things off. (Yes, I am that person who makes lists of things that I’ve already done just so I can cross it off!)
This list is also a big reminder that time is going to fly and things need to start happening. Ger and I got engaged back in December and have had a long engagement. Honestly, now that time is shortening, it’s hard for me to get started on all the projects!
For all of those brides out there, did your “list” have a dual meaning to you?

I have a list too. Some people think it’s smothering, and there are some contraversies to list making. BUT I personally would be lost without mine. I have many lists. My to-do list, my must take photo shots, my guest list, my inventory of stuff we are taking to the reception site, the list of contact numbers for my vendors, my list of formal photos and how they should be taken, and my to do list that I keep at work and at home. I like the satisfaction of crossing things off. It makes me feel productive.
Good for you!
Way to go! I have a massive excel spreadsheet and would be absolutely lost without it. I love making lists. I get teased for being borderline OCD with them. But my ability to be on-task is one of my best qualities (according to some.) :)
I consider myself relatively organized and a person who makes lists. Most of my lists however end up being on random pieces of paper that I can never find again. My wedding is two months before yours! Wow, I feel incredibly overwhelmed! Good for you!
