Save the Date postcards
So it must be Save the Date week at EAD, I believe I am the third blogger this week to present hers!
I toyed with the idea of magnets, CDs and finally settled on postcards b/c honestly, it was easy. I’ve been working like crazy lately and traveling nearly every weekend to visit my fiance in Texas (I am in DC), so I’ve had very little time to brainstorm. But last weekend, I went to my faithful google reader and searched “save the date” ideas in the months worth of entries I had starred. I came across a STD that I adored – totally urban, artistic, minimalistic and chic – precisely the vibe I was going for (and I am now hitting myself in the head as I can’t find my inspiration and I totally owe credit to it, so when I find it again, I will post it). So I took my original inspiration but altered it and added personal elements and our fabulous photo from our engagement session with Missy in photoshop to suit our needs, and voila, this is what I came up with. There was just no time to re-invent the wheel this late in the game.
I then ordered 100 postcards for ONLY $28 at www.printsmadeasy.com. Unbelievable value. I should get them by Friday so hopefully they turn out great!

I adore how your photo makes the A in the word date. Give yourself some credit, they are fantastic!
They are perfect! So modern, but inviting at the same time. I love the circled calendar on the back.
Love them! especially that painting effect on your photo.
So cute! We also plan to do Save the Date postcards! So cost effective too!
Loved your save the dates! I had to do the commuting to Texas from Boise to see my fiance every other weekend last summer- It is NO FUN! Good luck planning your wedding and thanks for sharing.

so cute! so you!! i love them (and can’t wait to get one…right????)
p.s. i’m totally immature…but when you wrote that you found “came across a STD that i adored” i thought to myself “i wonder if d fiance knows about this? how will it impact their (after marriage) sex life?” DORK. i know. and crude. sorry, you can delete this comment…lovey ou kas!
Nice cards! For future orders, you can order “save the date” postcards at Overnight Prints for as cheap as $9.95 for one hundred. I strongly recommend them.
I too did postcard Save-the-Dates, only I just put a picture of my fiance and I on the entire front and the information on the back. That way all our friends and family recieve a picture of us that they can frame if they want to. I ordered 200 from 123print for $28 and for an extra $15 I got 200 “business” cards I call “Little Savers.” I found that so many of our friends live busy lives and I honestly get semi tired of reminding the same people of our wedding date, that the little cards go into their wallets with our picture and website information on it, so far its worked out amazing, no ones asked what date we are getting married. Its amazing how many people forget your date: 08/09/10! LOL. I enjoyed reading that I’m not the only one using post cards, I’ve shared that idea with so many friends getting married, still hasn’t really sunk in, but FAB idea!!!
