Life and wedding plans? And blogging? My blogging has taken a back seat the closer the wedding gets. I try pretty hard to update a few times a week and write blogs in advance to be posted, but sometimes I fail at that.

My job is constantly busy and like you I working on getting into grad school, taking classes, planning my sister in law's wedding in May, and still trying to be sane with all these diy projects. Plus, most of the things we need for our wedding (vendors, etc) are 2 hours away.

How am I staying sane? I'm not. I have let my life become organzied choas. Well, I also make a ton of lists. And I have a fairy who isn't a wedding planner, but she's a good friend being my wedding general. She lives where our vendors are so she picks things up and makes things happen.

Good luck on your classes. You are not alone. We are all human at the core and none of us are perfect. That's why we all need a little help.

Thanks so much for all the advice and support.

@chicncheap: You're too kind. These days I feel behind on everything, so I'll glad take your praise. :)

@one barefoot bride: I'm glad you shared that your partner picked up a lot of the work.
Unfortunately my fiance has a crazier schedule than me, so we're both booked to the brim with responsibilities. It's going to be one memorable year.

Same here!! I wonder all the time how people do it... balance work life commitments, fit in blogging and plan the wedding. It feels like they have managed to find the secret ingredient in fitting everything together and I have yet to find it. Lolz.. for me, I try to do everything on the weekends. One day to do all my wedding planning and blogging and the other day to just relax since I don't have to study at the moment. I dread to think how life is gonna be when my studies start back again.

While I am not a Wedding planner or Bride, I am a Wedding Photographer and travel often for my on location weddings. For the best life organization assistance, I use a program for MAC called "Things". It has helped me define when my tasks need to be accomplished based on daily loads and now, I can get 7 hours of sleep for the first time in 4 years.

I should have added that the only reason wedding planning has worked AT ALL is that my fiance has taken on the lion's share - especially here in the home stretch. He's better with details and lists than I am, and right now, he's the one reminding me of what needs to get done. How did this happen? We split up tasks and vendors early on - he's in charge of music, I'm in charge of invites (though he addressed half of them), he started the seating chart and the day of plan, I handled the flowers, he's working with the caterer and the facility, I bought the wine, etc. etc. I have somewhat more particular aesthetics. To get what I want, need to handle decorations and flowers. However, having my fiance significantly involved has been essential, and I believe, establishes a good pattern for our marriage.

I'm so eager to hear what you find out... wedding planning has taken over my life in the final month before the wedding, and it's rather a hostile takeover! Problematic with a brand-new full-time quite demanding job, that followed hard on the heels of a graduate degree. At this point, I just want the wedding to be DONE! (which it will be in 14 days!!!)

Girl, I bow down to you. You are already doing it all! I was only working part-time so it made things easier. But my wedding was planned in 3-4 months so that made it hard.

My advice? Don't over do it. You'll read all the blogs and all the planner/designer/inspiration sites and get completely inspired. Delegate or accept defeat and give up projects so you don't stress out. I had to cut an evening short with my bms because my mom was freaking out about my favor boxes and the mess in the house (I inadvertently ordered the most complicated favor boxes ever).
Be simple and still you.

Or let someone else run with it if you can afford/trust someone with that duty!
