For our out of town guests, I got plain brown gift bags and decorated them by hot gluing wired sunflower ribbon (two different styles, one for his family/guests and one for mine). We used sunflowers in our wedding so it worked out great. In the bags, I had speciality sweet potato cookies with J&S (J for Jeremy and S for Shea) piped in the wedding colors (dark chocolate brown and ivory) in buttercream icing. I chose this flavor because I had never heard of them before and they tasted amazing! We also added cutesy memo pads/blank note cards, bottles of water, crystal lights to go, and chips. Since the guests staying flew or drove in from far away, we thought bags would be easier for transit (isntead of baskets).
