I loves me some vintage stamps. Tell me that by next summer they won’t be overdone?

So I started collecting my own for our wedding invitations:

The individual ones are all 3 cent stamps. The sheet is the “Legendary Baseball Players” set of stamps. Mr. and I are huge baseball fans and so he was thrilled to learn that I was thinking of using them.
Again though, I have a feeling it might be tricky to put the right ones together and not make it look like color vomit on the envelopes. Anyone have any hints of grouping them? Or know of any other stamps that might look good with these? Do you think they’re going to be too colorful and I should just start over?

Haha, me too. I just started buying them. I hope they’re not overdone either… :( I just love the way they look. We should stay in touch and trade if we need to! :)

Where do you get your stamps?

Hi Elizabeth,
I’ve been looking through your blog for the last hour, seriously, and I love every little bit about it! This could become yet another blog I spend an unhealthy amount of time on when I should be in bed! Ahh! With that said, I’ve loved the idea of vintage stamps, but have wondered if it is very economical for a bride on a budget. Also, any tips on where you found yours.
Thanks so much lady, and for having this stellar blog!
Hi everyone! I got my stamps on ebay for really not a whole lot more than face value so it’s not that much of a splurge. There are quite a few beautiful stamps that are way above face value so…no, that wouldn’t be terribly economical, but if you can find ones that work that are close to face value it doesn’t add on a whole lot.
