Rethinking the Garter Idea…
No, I’m still not even *considering* having a moment like this at our reception:

Totally not what I think of when I hear the word garter. Love it.
Are you considering a garter?
I couldn’t agree more with the garter photo / trend being totally tacky and not to mention embarassing? I’m definately thinking about doing away with both the garter and bouquet toss. I saw one wedding where the bride gave her bouquet to her grandparents as a way to honor them and the marriage example they set for her. I like that idea!
The bleu garter is hot though- you could still wear one, just have your husband take it off once you get to your hotel room! :-)
wow those garters are beautiful!! would it be weird if I wore 2…and didn’t toss either of them?!?

I could not agree with you MORE about this tradition!!! I really would hate to ruin my wedding album with a picture like that. I think we might do away with the whole bouquet garter toss. It’s embarrassing to think that my grandparents and parents will be watching as my fiance crawls up my dress…NOT COOL!
I refused to have a bouquet & garter toss at my reception… mainly because as soon as it came time to toss the bouquet I would have to go to the bathroom or make up some other excuse to not have to participate.
BUT…
If I knew of Bleu Garters before this, I probably would have bought one to wear for my husband on the wedding night. Those are fabulous!

I’ve already told my fiance’ that we are not doing that at our wedding… he’s been married before and took his ex-sife’s garter off with his teeth like that, which I certainly don’t want him to repeat on me. Also, how embarrassing for my parents to have to see him with his face under my dress??
BUT that is a gorgeous, fabulous garter, wear it for your wedding night! And if you want to wear 2 then use them for what they were intended for originally, to hold up a sexy pair of stockings!
I wore a beautiful garter from Etsy seller Garter Lady, but I didn’t toss it at the reception. I didn’t want a tacky moment like the one above, plus I wanted to keep the handmade piece as a keepsake!
