Weddings often take inspiration from works of art, films, etc – and with Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland hitting theatres, what could be better inspiration for an event than a fun tea party Mad Hatter theme? Latrice Cushenberry of Opulent Couturier, a fabulous lady and talented event stylist and planner in Nashville, styled this adorable photo shoot based on the movie, which is full of details and bold colors!
She kept the elements of the shoot simple but vibrant – unique styling, Mad Hatter-inspired makeup (Latrice fell in love with the Alice in Wonderland eye shadow color palette offered through Urban Decay), amazing florals that scream “wonderland!” and of course, a fabulous gown to top everything off. Nashville’s Centennial Park was the perfect setting.

Brocade Design Arts in Nashville is responsible for all of the floral creations, including this amazing whimsical Alice in Wonderland bouquet. I love the bouquet wrap detail!

Here is the full list of Nashville wedding vendors that worked on this fabulous shoot:

So cute and fun! This reminds me of a bridal shower I threw for my best friend in Nov of ’08. We had a Mad Hatter Tea Party. The bridal party all wore Alice and Wonderland hats and the guests were asked to join in by wearing fun or funky hats. It was so festive and fun! I highly recommend using themes like this! Great photo shoot!

This is just so whimsical and fun! I am loving the bouquets!
The dress looks so stunning. I love the theme as I love the Alice in Wonderland movie with all of the fresh flowers. Thanks for posting, I able to get an idea for my wedding.
What a beautiful garden! Getting married in such stunning places means you really don’t need to add any decor at all!

LOVE this shoot! Can you tell me where the ‘Mad Hatter’ Hat came from? My husband is going to be the Johnny Depp Mad Hatter for Halloween and I am dying to find him the perfect hat and this is IT! :) If you can find out where it came from, I would be grateful!

hi rebecca! latrice was kind enough to share the info – she purchased the hat here: http://myworld.ebay.com/tragicmountain27 and replaced the paper feather with a peacock feather. she also shaped the hat for about 48 hours because it arrived flat. Shaping it consisted of placing hot bath towels in the clothes dryer over night and shaping to her liking!
hope that helps you!
who would have picked out the fushia shoes…is there a way of identifying the brand? soo cute….

Hi Nicolette! The shoes are from a Nashville fashion boutique called Posh. The brand is Poetic License.
Thank you so so much for all of the great information about the hat!!
These pictures are just fantastic! Cool photos!
